PANE 'E LANDE—From acorn's cupule to bread's leavening
Inspired by the geometry of the acorn’s cupule a natural structure that expands to protect a growing seed Landè is a responsive bread basket that gently transforms during the leavening process. The project draws from Sardinian traditions, where acorn flour was once mixed into bread during times of scarcity.
Digitally designed using parametric modeling and fabricated by laser-cutting felt, the object is assembled without stitching: each blade folds and interlocks, forming a flexible, expandable shell. As dough rises, the pressure subtly reshapes the structure making the act of leavening visible.
